State Plan for Aviation Safety

The State Plan for Aviation Safety (SPAS) is a single document containing the State’s strategy for the management of aviation safety. The SPAS serves as a commitment to the implementation of activities for improvement of safety in the State and compliments the State Safety Programme.

The State Plan for Aviation Safety in Malta (SPAS in Malta) is the master planning document containing the strategic direction of a State for the management of aviation safety for a set time period. This plan contains the actions identified in the EPAS and also lists national safety issues with respective SPI’s and SPT’s to help address identified safety deficiencies and maintain/achieve an acceptable level of aviation safety. The SSP and SPAS in Malta take into consideration the appropriate actions and procedures needed to ensure that functions are appropriately addressed and executed. All documentations are considered as ‘live-documents’ and are updated periodically to reflect changing scenarios.
