Training


Training for Subcategory A1/A3

Remote pilots flying UAS weighing more than 250g are required to obtain “Proof of completion of the online training” for operating in Subcategories A1 and A3.

This requires completing training by thoroughly studying this presentation and watching the videos below. The entire syllabus is provided in the EASA AMC & GM to Part-UAS.

Subsequently, candidates may book for an available theoretical exam session on tmcad.idronect.com/exam/events/overview and once the booking is confirmed, sit for the theoretical exam at TM-CAD offices in Lija.Kindly note that the examination room is equipped with CCTV cameras.The examination has a maximum duration of 1 hour and comprises 40 multiple choice questions, with a passmark of 75%. Upon passing the exam, candidates will be issued with a Certificate of “Proof of completion of the online training" containing their unique Remote Pilot Identification Number.

 

 

 



Training for Subcategory A2  

Remote pilots flying UAS belonging to Class C2, or if the UAS has no CE-marking but weighs between 500 g and 2 kg, in addition to the A1/A3 certification, are required to obtain a “Remote Pilot Certificate of Competency” for operating in Subcategory A2.

This requires additional training, both theoretical as well as practical, as per syllabus defined in EASA AMC & GM to Part-UAS. This training may be achieved by self-study or following courses online or at any private training organization.

Subsequently, candidates may book for an available theoretical exam session on tmcad.idronect.com/exam/events/overview and once the booking is confirmed, sit for the theoretical exam at TM-CAD offices in Lija.Kindly note that the examination room is equipped with CCTV cameras.Kindly note that A1/A3 certification is a prerequisite for sitting for the A2 examination. The examination has a maximum duration of 45 minutes and comprises 30 multiple choice questions, with a passmark of 75%. Guidance on the examination system is available here.

There is no practical exam, but the candidate needs to declare completion of the practical training.
